Signal Generation and Monitoring
The AT-3M functions as a dedicated signal generator, outputting a 1 kHz sine wave or pink noise through XLR-M, 1/4″, and 3.5mm connections. Three selectable output levels (-10, -20, and -40 dB) make it easy to match a wide range of audio gear. On the receive side, the AT-3F accepts signals via XLR-F or 1/4″ inputs and routes them to its built-in speaker or to headphones through the 3.5mm output for immediate monitoring.
Phantom Power and Input Metering
Phantom power can be quickly verified using the AT-3M, which individually meters pins 2 and 3 of the XLR output and confirms proper voltage presence. The AT-3F adds XLR input metering, allowing users to visually check incoming signal levels when diagnosing microphones, cables, or mixer outputs.
Advanced XLR Cable Testing
Designed for efficient cable troubleshooting, the AT-3 supports split-unit remote XLR cable testing—one unit at each end of the line. All three pins are checked for continuity, with multiple test modes available to isolate pin-specific faults. Clear LED indicators on both units provide instant feedback, making it especially effective for testing long XLR or DMX runs in real-world setups.
Flexible, Independent Operation
Each unit operates independently for maximum versatility. The AT-3M focuses on signal generation and phantom power checks, while the AT-3F handles audio input monitoring with speaker or headphone output. Internal batteries with USB-C charging, MagSafe-style mounting, and intuitive controls make the AT-3 a compact, professional tool that audio engineers and live sound technicians can rely on every day.
